For Mother

Days passed.

Nights rolled and eventually passed.

And stronger,

stronger grew your pain

But somehow you did endure, and your strength you did maintain

As those days passed,

and the nights came rolling away…

Within you have I dwelled;

Miniature, kicking and sharing with you all that can be shared:

blood, life and bond.

Till the day you sent me forth

and all was well…

the day you sent me forth.

But what excruciating pain you wholly bore!

And though we share one life no more,

Blood and bond remain

Forevermore.

Blood and bond, forevermore.

    1. And you saw how the baby’s head emerged
      It’s really astonishing and frightening.
      The pain. The screams.
Women deserve to be respected full stop.
